Nellie was born in the US, grew up in Brazil, and started her advertising career in Goiânia, which explains both her accent(s) and her patience with life’s plot twists.

After completing a Master’s Degree in Communications, she moved back to the US to play on the global stage, joining DAVID Miami in 2018. In under two years, her work picked up 8 Cannes Lions (including 3 Gold), plus 4 D&AD Pencils and 6 One Show awards.

In 2022, she took the leap to AMV BBDO, expanding her work across European and global markets.

Since then, Nellie has been named a top 10 most awarded copywriter at Cannes Lions and a top 20 copywriter on The Drum list, where she was the highest-ranked woman. In 2020, she also made Adweek’s Creative 100 Rising Stars and the One Show Next Leaders list.

She finds it weird writing about herself in the third person, but here we are.

She never had a nickname—until people started calling her Chuck Nellie (a nod to Chuck Norris) and The Most Interesting Woman in the World. Feel free to ask about that in person or over Zoom.
